SEEK YE THE LORD

MEMORY VERSE – “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near” Isaiah 55: 6

LESSON TEXT – 2 Chronicles 15: 2-4

LESSON INTRODUCTION

To seek means to look for, search for, inquire about, investigate, pursue, and strive after. It also means to plead and cry for something to the point of struggling, Matt. 13: 45. The Lord is Holy and cannot behold sin, if people therefore continue in sinful ways: the Lord will withdraw His presence. The call to seek the Lord is an urgent one. There are times when He may not be available, when? It is our prayer that the Lord will teach us today in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

REASONS TO SEEK THE LORD

The Lord will be found if we seek Him, 1 Chr. 28: 9; Prov. 8: 17; 2 Chr. 15: 2-4. The only one you can seek and find is God, not money, position, friendship etc. He will hear and answer if we seek Him, 2 Chr. 7: 14. The Lord will give us rest when we seek Him, 2 Chr. 14: 7; 2 Chr. 14: 10-15. The Lord is the source of blessing, so we should seek Him, Matt. 6: 33; Ps. 34: 9-10; prosperity, healing and health are part of the blessings, 2 Chr. 26: 5; 31: 21; 3 Jn. 2. He is the source of righteousness, Hos. 10: 12. Seeking the Lord as the source of life, Amos 5: 4.

HOW TO SEEK HIM

We should seek the Lord with all our heart, Deut. 4: 29; Jer. 29: 13. He should be sought continually, Ps. 105: 4; 1 Chr. 16:11. We should seek Him daily, Isa. 58: 2. We should be diligent in the seeking, Heb. 11: 6. We should do it with humanity, 2 Chr. 7: 14.

WHER TO FIND THE LORD

The Lord will be found in the place of praise, Ps. 100: 3-4; 22: 3; Ex. 15: 9-11; Rev. 4: 9-11; 5: 11-12; 7: 11-12. He will be found in the place of prayer and fasting, 2 Chr. 20: 3; Ezra 8: 21; Dan. 9: 1-3. You will find the Lord when you strive to live in holiness, 2 Chr. 34: 3; Ezra 6: 21. The Lord will be found in His word, Ezra 7: 10; Ps. 34: 4.

CONCLUSION

No one can come to the Lord unless the father in heaven draws such one. We require a lot of prayers to seek the Lord.
